Dow Jones Indexes
Dow Jones Indexes (www.djindexes.com) is a leading full-service index provider that develops, maintains and licenses indexes for use as benchmarks and as the basis of investment products. Best-known for the Dow Jones Industrial Average, Dow Jones Indexes offers more than 130,000 equity indexes as well as fixed-income and alternative indexes, including measures of hedge funds, commodities and real estate. Dow Jones indexes are maintained according to clear, unbiased and systematic methodologies that are fully integrated within index families. Dow Jones Indexes is part of CME Group Index Services LLC, a joint venture company which is owned 90% by CME Group and 10% by Dow Jones.
FTSE Group
FTSE Group is a world leader in the creation and management of indexes.
Their indexes are used extensively by investors worldwide for investment analysis, performance measurement, asset allocation, portfolio hedging and for creating a wide range of index tracking funds. Independent committees of senior fund managers, derivatives experts, actuaries and other experienced practitioners review all changes to the indices to ensure that they are made objectively and without bias.
FTSE calculates and manages the FTSE Global Equity Index Series, a broad family of indexes capturing Large, Mid and Small Cap stocks. The series also contains the widely used FTSE All-World Index and a variety of strategy indexes including socially responsible investment (FTSE4Good), multinationals and style. In addition, FTSE calculates a broad range of asset class and domestic equity indexes such as FTSE Hedge and the prestigious FTSE 100 for the UK market.
